ORTHOPEDIC CENTER OF ILLNOIS FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
OCI Foundation Scholarship & Comeback Player of the Year Scholarship will award two area seniors $1,000 each

The Orthopedic Center of Illinois Foundation (OCIF) today announced two scholarship opportunities for local high school seniors - the OCI Foundation Scholarship and the “Comeback Player of the Year” Scholarship.

The OCI Foundation Scholarship will recognize a graduating senior in Sangamon County pursuing a career in the healthcare field.  The student must be a graduating high school student, be a resident of Sangamon County, and attend an accredited college or university in the coming fall as a full-time student majoring in a health-related field.  The $1,000 scholarship is renewable, up to four years, provided that the student is in good standing.

The “Comeback Player of the Year” Scholarship will be awarded to an area athlete who has been treated by an OCI physician for an injury or disorder.  The same criteria apply as in the OCI Foundation Scholarship, with the addition of the student/athlete participating in multiple school-sponsored sports teams.  This $1,000 scholarship is non-renewable.

For more information on the scholarships or to download an application, please visit the OCIF website at www.ocif.net.  The deadline to apply is March 15, 2010.  Winners will be announced by May 1.
